At the start of the month, 18 new staff recruits were welcomed to the Eclectic Care team and shortly after attended their mandatory ‘People Moving and Manual Handling Training’. For many staff members, this was their first time meeting one another. To introduce themselves, an Icebreaker activity was held, which allowed all members to share interesting facts about themselves and to show who they are to their fellow colleagues.

To ensure that our staff were equipped with the knowledge and skills to provide quality care, the core elements of the training included: Anatomy and Mechanics, Health & Safety legislations, Moving and Handling, Basic Fall Management, Harm Reduction, Person-Centred Approach and Techniques & Equipment.

To consolidate their understanding of the training, the use of role-play, group activities, presentations, quizzes, debates, and visual aids were implemented during the training.

As for congratulating the participants for completing the intensive day training, a certificate was rewarded to each staff member.
